Under The Balinese Sky

A Yoga Retreat in Ubud

27 – 31 August 2026

We’ll spend five days and four nights in a dreamy retreat venue, surrounded by lush rice paddy fields in Ubud.

Practicing yoga that supports your body, sharing nourishing meals, and moving through days that feel spacious instead of rushed.

I’ll be taking you to places that have shaped me deeply, where my relationship with yoga became something lived and sustaining.

Some moments we’ll come together. Other moments are completely yours.

If practicing yoga surrounded by nature, lounging by the pool with a refreshing smoothie, and letting your days unfold slowly sounds like your kind of retreat…

Come with me to Ubud.

Let yourself be held…under the Balinese sky.

Where you’ll rest and recharge: The Shala Bali

The Shala Bali offers a range of thoughtfully designed accommodations, and you’ll be able to choose the option that best suits how you want to rest during the retreat.

You can select from:

  • Deluxe Double Sharing Room with rice field views

  • Deluxe Single Room with pool or garden views

  • Wooden Bungalow with a private garden (single or double sharing)

Each room features an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mosquito nets, free WiFi, a safe box, mini fridge, and natural bath amenities. Daily room cleaning is included so you can fully relax into your stay.

A note about the natural setting:

The Shala Bali is located in the heart of the rice fields and surrounded by nature. It’s a peaceful, open environment. And it also means we’re sharing the space with local wildlife. During your stay, you may see geckos, ducks, chickens, dragonflies, and other small creatures that are simply part of daily life here.

How to get to The Shala Bali:

Airport transfers are included in your retreat package.

You’ll be picked up from the airport on the day of arrival and transferred to The Shala Bali, and returned to the airport at the end of the retreat.

If you choose to arrive in Bali earlier or stay longer, we’re happy to help arrange your transfers between Seminyak and Ubud. Please note that the retreat includes one round-trip transfer in total.

Because The Shala is tucked away among rice fields, vehicles aren’t able to drive directly to the venue. Instead, your taxi will drop you at Mumbai Station restaurant, located on the main road.

From there, it’s a short and scenic walk (about 7 minutes) through the rice fields to the venue. A member of The Shala team will be there to assist you with your luggage and guide you the rest of the way.

I’ve always liked Ariel’s class, I feel the way she teaches is very soothing and calming.

Where you’ll move and breathe:

Your yoga practice will take place in an open-air yoga deck, overlooking the rice fields – a space where fresh air, birdsong, and nature naturally become part of the experience.

All props are provided, including yoga mats. If you prefer to practice with your own mat, you’re very welcome to bring it along.

Most morning and evening sessions will be held at The Shala Bali. On Day 3, we’ll venture out together for one class at a beautiful local yoga studio, a chance to experience a different space and energy during the retreat.

Mornings begin in quiet. We’ll start with silent meditation, followed by dynamic Vinyasa Yoga, designed to awaken the body, build strength, and support sustainable movement.

Evenings invite you to slow down. These sessions are gentler and more restorative, including Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Sound Bath and Myofascial release – practices that help the body unwind and the nervous system settle.

All yoga sessions are 75 minutes.

Ariel is a great teacher – friendly, warm and very knowledgeable. The retreat was a great mix of energy and relaxation and I will recommend it to others for future sessions!

Where you’ll nourish yourself:

Meals at The Shala Bali are fresh, vibrant, and deeply nourishing.

You’ll enjoy a wide range of international and local flavours, from Japanese, Italian, Mediterranean, Thai, Indian, to Balinese cuisine, alongside cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and a few sweet treats along the way.

Almost everything is made in-house. Ingredients are thoughtfully sourced, mostly organic and non-GMO, and prepared with a lot of care (and love).

The kitchen follows the principles of Ahimsa (non-violence), offering vegetarian and vegan meals, and the team is experienced in accommodating dietary needs and preferences.

But don’t worry, this isn’t a “you’ll never see a non-veg meal” situation. We’ll also head out together to some local restaurants, including non-vegetarian spots, so you get to experience the wider food culture that Ubud has to offer.

Where you’ll be pampered:

As part of your retreat experience, you’ll receive a two-hour Balinese massage, complete with a body scrub and a flower bath.

Your treatment will take place at Darshana Veda Ayurvedic Spa, a serene nature spa surrounded by lush gardens and flowing water.

The spa offers specialized Ayurvedic treatments alongside traditional Balinese massages, with the option to enjoy additional services such as manicures, pedicures, or extra treatments if you wish.

All products used are natural, luxurious, and made in-house, so everything that touches your body is thoughtful, gentle, and of high quality.
